One technique that kept appearing throughout the film was shots of media within media. There were many sequences in which they filmed either giant digital screens or other TV sets and such. This was done to really drill home the idea of how much media has invaded our society and is ingrained in our everyday lives. Without this concept realized, then Chomsky’s argument is a moot point, and so it seems the filmmakers went to great lengths to make sure that this point was clear and highlighted Chomsky’s Propaganda Model. Ironically enough though, the filmmakers also chose to include many clips of Chomsky being broadcasted through these very mediums in which he derides, or at least accuses of being misused. Because even Chomsky admits the “common people” need to hear his message to utilize their logic. So even as Chomsky denounces the media, he has to go through the same means as to persuade people of his argument, which is the same thing the media business does. So Chomsky himself is shown to be utilizing his own Propaganda Model, but for his purpose and so even he may be withholding information or twisting the facts into his own totalitarianism regime of anti-media.
